Hi, I’m Gabby and I am a self proclaimed African cuisine connoisseur. As soon as I was tall enough to reach the stove, I was in the kitchen helping my mom cook dinner and assisting my aunties prepare meals for large family gatherings. I studied culinary arts in high school and deepened my knowledge of Africana studies during university. I graduated from NYU in 2024 and created my own major encompassing economics and africana studies.
This blog unites my passion for pan-African history, art and cuisine into one platform. My experiences are shaped by my upbringing in a Senegalese household. I believe that food is one of the few things that brings people together and I wanted to use this blog to unite and highlight the rich cuisine of the African diaspora. Whether you are a beginner chef wanting to learn the basics of cooking, or an experienced chef looking to explore pan-African cuisine, Green Star Kitchen has something for you. The recipes, techniques and stories I share are curated for all food lovers at every level.
Come along with me as I explore pan-African gastronomy!
